These lesson plans have been designed for science teachers and careers advisers to use with Year 9 and 10 students.
The lessons help illustrate to students how important and relevant scientific knowledge is to their future careers (whether the career is in a scientific field or not). The lesson plans are designed to be used in conjunction with the Careers in Science brochure and fact sheet on this site, along with other resources.
All states and territories of Australia expect that as a result of their school studies of Science, students should appreciate the significant of scientific knowledge for their future. The lesson plans have been designed to complement all state and territory Science syllabuses.
There are two lessons for science teachers and three lessons for careers advisers, with an additional occupational research worksheet which can be used in either subject.
